Jed was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He earned his BS from the University of California, Davis, and pursued a dual MD/MPH degree at the UCSF School of Medicine. At UC Davis, he graduated with honors from his neurobiology, physiology, and behavior program with a double minor in psychology and public health sciences. Jed was also awarded the Distinguished Scholar Award for the College of Biological Sciences and the Gold Community Service Award for his independent research in musculoskeletal physiology and service to underserved communities in Davis and Sacramento, CA. His research now focuses on assessing bias in clinical decision tools, and he remains committed to healthcare equity through his work with free health clinics for unhoused populations.
After college, Jed coached students, conducted clinical research at Stanford University focusing on Asian American health, and worked at a medical technology startup called Biospectal, developing innovative blood pressure diagnostic tools. He has published multiple first-author publications and presented his research to several national organizations, such as the American College of Sports Medicine, the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine, and Pediatric Academic Societies. His personal medical school application experience includes receiving multiple acceptances and interviewing at top programs including Harvard and UCSF.
Jed also tutored biochemistry, mentored all aspects of undergraduate research through UCD’s Undergraduate Research Center, and empowered pre-health students from minority demographics through leadership within cultural pre-health organizations. Students he’s worked with have been accepted to top medical schools such as the UCSF School of Medicine (including the UCSF-UC Berkeley Joint Medical Program), Stanford University School of Medicine, UC Davis School of Medicine, the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and others.

Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Jenna's journey to veterinary medicine began when she moved to California to pursue a Bachelor of Science in chemistry at Santa Clara University. Despite her initial focus on chemistry, Jenna's academic interests expanded, leading her to graduate with double majors in biochemistry and English and a minor in biology. Her academic excellence was recognized with her induction into the English Honors Society Sigma Tau Delta, and she cherishes her time as an active member of Rho Psi Eta, a pre-health sorority.
Jenna's passion for veterinary medicine is deeply personal. It stems from her experience with her beloved dachshund, Lucy, who suffered from Intervertebral Disk Disease (IVDD). The years of care, therapy, and support that followed Lucy's emergency surgery reinforced her commitment to animal welfare and veterinary medicine.
Throughout her education, Jenna has gained diverse experience through volunteer work at animal shelters in Honolulu and Santa Clara, a small animal GP/Rehabilitation clinic, and a high-quality, high-volume spay and neuter clinic. She has also accumulated approximately six years of combined full-time experience working as a kennel and veterinary assistant at a small animal and exotics ER/GP. In these roles, Jenna has had the opportunity to work with a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, guinea pigs, rats, turtles, and chameleons. She is committed to continuing her work with all types of animals throughout her veterinary career.
Jenna also served as a Health Professions Peer Advisor, where she was part of an Advisory Committee to revamp her university's pre-health advising system. Over the years, Jenna worked with numerous vet school candidates, reviewing their application essays and resumes while helping them target schools that aligned with their goals. Jessica is a student at the USC Keck School of Medicine MD program. She will be pursuing her residency training in Psychiatry. Jessica is originally from a northern suburb of Chicago, Illinois. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s in Neuroscience with Honors. While at USC for her undergraduate degree, Jessica completed three years of research which culminated in an Honors Thesis titled, “Effects of Hormonal Contraception on Hippocampal Volume: A Neuroimaging Study.” After graduating, she obtained a position at the Stanford VA as the Clinical Study Coordinator for two Alzheimer’s disease-related neuroimaging studies. It was here that she discovered her love for clinical medicine and her desire to work with patients.
Since beginning medical school, she has served three years on the Evaluations and Selections committee and has interviewed many aspiring Keck MD applicants. She has mentored multiple students throughout their medical school admissions process, informally as well as formally through the American Medical Women’s Association. She has also served on the board of multiple student interest groups, including Ob/Gyn, Medical Students for Choice, and Lifestyle Medicine. Her programming efforts for the latter group helped them win the Outstanding Nutrition/Culinary Programming Award at the American College of Lifestyle Medicine Conference in 2021. Jessica has also worked on several research projects while at Keck, including two studies that aimed to examine racial disparities in maternal morbidity as well as the relationship between anemia and severe maternal morbidity, as well one study that examined clinical outcomes of post-placental IUD placement in the setting of chorioamnionitis. These studies have resulted in several publications. Most recently, Jessica is working on a research study that aims to improve the treatment of depression in the primary care setting by implementing psychiatric collaborative care (PCC) conferences in a primary care clinic that serves mainly underprivileged patients. This project aims to reduce disparities in psychiatric care, a cause Jessica is very passionate about.
In her free time, Jessica loves to get outside and hike/camp in the national parks of California. Jonah was born in Dallas, TX. He graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University, where he majored in Astrophysics and minored in Biophysics and Astrobiology while completing the pre-medical track. After college, he spent one gap year conducting breast cancer research at UCSF with a focus on biostatistics and bioinformatics. He then enrolled at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and is currently a fourth-year medical student.
Throughout medical school, Jonah has had an interest in surgery and applying his computational skill set to explore next-generation sequencing projects as they relate to reconstructive surgical procedures. He mentors Harvard undergraduates on medical school admissions and serves as a Non-Resident Tutor for Harvard College’s Adams House.

Joseph has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Utah Valley University and is a student at the Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine. Although Joseph didn’t decide to become a veterinarian until later in life, his unique experiences with animals in his childhood were still a significant part of his story. Often referred to as the “next Steve Irwin,” he was known to breed black widows, raise rattlesnakes, catch minks, and help discover new insects. However, when he began his undergraduate studies, he pursued business management. Though he thrived, Joseph felt something was missing. He decided to take several career-matching tests, and to no one’s surprise, ‘veterinarian’ was at the top of the list.
At 21 years old, without prior experience, he set out to find a job shadowing opportunity at a veterinarian’s office and found his calling. His passion for the field was immediate, leading him to work with various animals in different settings, including an accredited zoo. He pursued his interest further through the ADVS-Agricultural Dairy Veterinary Science program at Utah State University, which partnered with Washington State University.
Joseph then went on to work with wild bison for the state of Utah, aided in the Elk management plan, and is currently on the revision committee. He has also worked in emergency and shelter medicine to grasp all the avenues of veterinary medicine. Joseph won the Merck Scholarship, the Cottonwood Veterinary Clinic Scholarship, and received honor’s BCP certification with the VBMA-Veterinary Business Management Association while serving as the acting recruiter and treasurer for the club. He not only helped start the Virgin Chapters at Arizona and Western veterinary schools, but also founded the histology club at the Western University of Health Sciences, actively seeking to help younger classmates understand through tutoring sessions.

Dr. Mercado is a board-certified ophthalmologist, bringing expertise in pediatric and comprehensive ophthalmology to her mentor and admissions consultant role. She has served as Clinical Instructor for Ophthalmology and Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Casey Eye Institute, and Head of the Diversity Committee for the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Washington. In these roles, she has been involved with medical school admissions and ophthalmology residency and fellowship interviews.
Dr. Mercado’s passion for mentoring and teaching began early in her academic career. As an undergraduate at MIT, she was recognized as one of 25 Burchard Scholars in her year for her outstanding achievements in the arts, humanities, social sciences, science, and engineering. Additionally, she was inducted as an MIT Class of 2009 Community Catalyst Leader for her extensive involvement in mentoring, teaching, and developing advising workshops for freshmen.

Dr. Munoz played competitive softball for more than 10 years and still plays recreationally. She enjoys spending time reading, cooking, going to concerts, gardening, and training her doberman.
Dr. Munoz attended Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine before becoming a resident at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. With over 10 years of experience in advising and tutoring students and five years in selecting, interviewing, and ranking applicants for medical school and residency. She currently sits on the admissions committee for the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency Program at the University of Wisconsin.
Dr. Munoz graduated summa cum laude from California State University San Marcos with a BS in biology and a minor in chemistry after being recruited to play softball for the university before attending Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. Her impressive performance during the residency application process led to more than 20 interviews in her chosen specialty of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Ultimately, Dr. Munoz matched at a top 10 program in the country for this specialty, the University of Wisconsin, where she worked towards a fellowship in microsurgical reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Munoz's passion for advising and working with students stems from her own experiences and challenges throughout medical school and residency application processes. As the first in her family to graduate with a college degree, she overcame numerous obstacles in the preparation for and admission to medical school and residency, from which she learned immensely. This personal journey has fueled her desire to make the process more streamlined, straightforward, efficient, and successful for future students. She draws on her extensive training in communication, teaching, and leadership to guide students with clarity and confidence.
Dr. Munoz’s 10+ years of extensive mentoring and admissions experience have provided her with insider tips for the admissions process from the perspective of admissions committees, which she is excited to share with aspiring medical professionals. She takes a flexible and student-centered approach, adapting quickly to each student’s needs and adjusting plans as necessary.
