Herchel's journey to dental school is rooted in his upbringing in a small town in Georgia. He attended the University of Georgia for his undergraduate studies and earned a Bachelor's degree in biology. Demonstrating his exceptional academic abilities, he graduated summa cum laude from UGA in just 2.5 years. Throughout his undergraduate studies, Herchel extensively tutored, providing educational support in biology, general chemistry, and organic chemistry. He even started his own tutoring company with his roommate for a time.
While at UGA, Herchel was involved in research projects demonstrating his passion for advancing dental science. He researched S. mutans, exploring how nanoparticles can inhibit the progression of dental caries. He also analyzed the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on various countries. Following his graduation, Herchel had the opportunity to contribute to the construction of the second-largest Hindu Temple in the world, Akshardham, located in Robbinsville, NJ.
Herchel's approach to tutoring is centered on empowering students to become the best candidates they can be. He works closely with each individual, identifying their strengths and areas for improvement and developing personalized study plans to help them achieve their goals. His patience, empathy, and passion for teaching make him an invaluable mentor and guide for students navigating the challenging path to dental school.
