During college, Scott pursued research and clinical opportunities that shaped his perspective as a tutor. At the USC Center for Research on Crime, he studied gang member embeddedness and its broader social impact. He also studied at the University of Sussex School of Psychology, examining protective social factors in adults. Clinically, Scott worked as an EMT in Yonkers, New York, and volunteered in the Emergency Department at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx.
At USC, Scott served as the President of Troy Philippines, USC’s Filipino student organization, after holding roles as Vice President, Community & Culture Chair, and Leadership Intern. In these positions, he organized large-scale cultural and community events and mentored many underclassmen, including pre-health students preparing for their own academic and professional journeys. These experiences not only strengthened his leadership skills but also deepened his ability to guide others in finding and expressing their unique stories.
As a tutor, Scott’s greatest strength lies in his ability to combine strategy with empathy. He understands that every applicant has a distinct journey, and he works closely with students to highlight their strengths and build confidence throughout the MCAT prep process. His approach is structured yet flexible, encouraging students to thrive academically while maintaining a growth mindset. Scott is passionate about tutoring because he knows the transformative role that strong mentorship can play, and he is committed to paying that forward to aspiring medical school students.
