Dr. Reyes' is a resident physician scientist at the University of Minnesota. He earned his BS from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, before furthering his training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research. He then completed his MD/PhD at the University of Minnesota Medical Scientist Training Program.

As a counselor, Dr. Reyes draws upon his extensive research background, which focuses on uncovering the genetic basis of human diseases. His expertise in this area allows him to provide insider information and guidance to students interested in pursuing careers as physician-scientists. He is passionate about helping incoming and current medical students navigate the challenges of medical school and achieve their career aspirations.

Looking ahead, Dr. Reyes is committed to making significant contributions to the field of pulmonary medicine. As an incoming pulmonary and critical care medicine fellow at the University of Minnesota Physician Scientist Training Program, he aims to discover genes that influence pulmonary conditions such as lung fibrosis. 

Additionally, he is dedicated to training the next generation of physicians and scientists, ensuring that the future of medicine remains in capable hands.
