Emma's journey in veterinary medicine began with her graduation from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where she earned a degree in biology and biotechnology. During her undergraduate studies, she served as the captain of the cross country, indoor, and outdoor track teams, and conducted research on the effects of phytoestrogens on osteoblast differentiation.
During veterinary school, Emma completed selective hours in the large animal neonatal intensive care unit and the Worcester Veterinary Outreach program, providing free veterinary care to the Worcester community. Prior to veterinary school, Emma worked as a veterinary technician assistant at a small animal general practice hospital for five years and on a therapeutic farm, where she cared for goats, sheep, horses, and chickens.
