Dr. Shannon Dash, Dental School Admissions Consultant at Inspira Advantage

Dr. Dash is a general dentist with more than a decade of experience. She graduated with a BS in biology from Hampton University before attending the Howard University College of Dentistry, where she has served as an admissions committee member for 13 years. She completed her general practice residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center, where she gained advanced training in comprehensive and emergency care.

As a dentist, Dr. Dash has experience working in private practice, corporate, Medicaid-based, and emergency dental settings. A longtime member of Howard University College of Dentistry’s admissions committee, Dr. Dash has conducted numerous interviews and developed a keen understanding of what helps applicants stand out. For over a decade, she has mentored students at every stage, from high schoolers exploring dentistry to new graduates embarking on their professional journeys.

Along her journey toward becoming a dentist, Dr. Dash was guided by several impactful mentors who inspired her to pay it forward by helping others achieve their dreams. She understands that the road to and through dental school is not easy, and she strives to be the kind of mentor she once needed. Students Dr. Dash has coached have been accepted to dental schools, including Howard University College of Dentistry, Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry, and Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.

As an admissions counselor, Dr. Dash combines her clinical expertise, mentorship experience, and compassionate coaching style to help applicants craft authentic, compelling applications that highlight their strengths and stories.
