Dr. Shah's higher education journey started at Northeastern University, where she graduated summa cum laude from the Honors Program with a BS in health science and minors in global health and law and public policy. While at Northeastern, Dr. Shah served as a Bouve Fellow, guiding first-year college students through the pre-health advising process. Additionally, she participated in research surrounding pediatric injury prevention leading to many publications.
Throughout her journey, Dr. Shah has been interested in public health and health policy which formed the basis of her MPH thesis during medical school. She was elected to be a part of the Graduate Program Student Senate and served as the MD/MPH representative which involved directly reviewing applications on the admissions committee as well as providing tours and offering feedback to the program.
Dr. Shah’s greatest strengths as an admissions counselor lie in her extensive experience with reviewing applications and navigating the admissions process as a first-generation student in medicine. Dr. Shah’s enthusiasm to help the next generation of prospective medical students combined with her extensive knowledge in admissions allows her to be an excellent advisor and mentor for anyone wishing to apply to a medical school.
