Dr. Rice continued his education at the University of Texas Medical Branch, where he earned his MD and was awarded the Evelyn S. Cowles Scholarship and the Gold Humanism Award. He spent two years serving on the admissions committee, where he evaluated applications, interviewed candidates, and contributed to the decision-making process, providing him with insights into the qualities that top medical programs seek in applicants. After graduation, he completed a transitional year at John Peter Smith Hospital before beginning his dermatology residency at Washington University in St. Louis.

Dr. Rice has served on the admissions committee throughout his residency training, including his tenure as Chief Resident. His responsibilities have grown to include not only applicant evaluation but also mentoring and strategic planning, ensuring that candidates are well-prepared for the challenges of medical school and beyond.

With six years of coaching and mentorship experience, Dr. Rice has guided many students through the medical school and residency application process.
