Dr. Catherine Hand, Private MCAT Tutor at Inspira Advantage

Dr. Hand graduated from the University of Texas San Antonio Long School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She has extensive tutoring experience working with students at various levels, including instructing students in general and organic chemistry, biology, and biochemistry as a teaching assistant, providing private MCAT tutoring, and guiding medical students through USMLE preparation.

Dr. Hand graduated with a BS with a near-perfect 4.0 GPA from the University of Dallas before attending medical school.  She has a strong research background in hepatology with Stanford Medicine and completed a research year at Rush Midwest Orthopaedics, working on projects related to sleep apnea and shoulder arthroscopy, ACL reconstruction with BMAC, and sports injury outcomes in MLS athletes. She has over 30 research publications, including work in The Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Orthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine, Cureus, and other publications.

As an MCAT tutor, Dr. Hand has a deep understanding of test content that allows her to break down complex topics and provide strategic test-taking advice tailored to each student’s needs. Dr. Hand’s teaching philosophy is highly personalized, focusing on what each student struggles with rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. Her background as a competitive swimmer (former junior Olympic athlete, varsity swimmer, and collegiate competitor) and classically trained pianist has shaped her discipline, attention to detail, and ability to help students build skills with teachable components.

As a tutor, Dr. Hand is realistic, supportive, and committed to helping students achieve their MCAT goals!
