Annie's academic journey began at the University of Pittsburgh, where she graduated with a degree in nutrition science with a concentration in psychology and a certificate in conceptual foundations of medicine. Annie's passion for healthcare and mentoring is evident in her extensive involvement in various academic and professional activities. During college, she actively participated in numerous clubs and organizations, including Pitt's PA Club, Nutrition and Dietetics Club, and Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority, where she also served on the executive board. She was a teaching assistant for a nutrition course and became a voluntary mentor for other students wanting to pursue physician assistant studies.
Her work experience spans various healthcare settings, including roles as a certified nursing assistant in long-term care facilities, a patient care technician in multiple hospital units, a medical assistant in family medicine, and a personal care aide. This breadth of experience allows her to provide insights into different healthcare career paths and the realities of working in the field.
As a counselor, Annie's strengths lie in her diverse experiences and ability to relate to students at different stages of their academic journey. Annie showed leadership as President of her cohort’s Physician Assistant Club and through her experience as a student representative for accreditation visits. Her experience on the Gannon University PA admissions committee provides her with insider knowledge into what PA programs expect from applicants. She is dedicated to inspiring and guiding the next generation of healthcare professionals.
