Beena has practiced at some of New York City’s leading academic medical institutions, including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Columbia University Medical Center, and Weill Cornell Medical College. Her work at these renowned centers deepened her expertise in oncology and integrative medicine—fields that resonate deeply with her own journey. Having faced cancer at the age of 21, Beena brings a unique and empathetic perspective to patient care, recognizing that healing encompasses both medical treatment and holistic well-being.
Beena is also a committed patient advocate, collaborating with organizations to promote health equity, patient empowerment, and greater access to care. Through telehealth, health coaching, and teaching, she shares her knowledge to help others navigate their own journey of self-discovery and transformation. She believes that understanding who you truly are is at the heart of stepping into your purpose and fulfillment.
As a counselor, Beena combines her deep clinical experience with her passion for mentorship and storytelling to help students craft authentic, compelling applications. With over six years of coaching experience and more than 100 students mentored, Beena is especially skilled at helping aspiring clinicians navigate personal statements, interview preparation, and scholarship planning with confidence and self-awareness.
Beena is deeply attuned to the struggles of aspiring clinicians. Her empathetic and structured approach guides students through every stage of the PA school process, from applications and essays to interviews and personal growth. She has successfully mentored numerous students into PA programs and contributed to admissions processes by interviewing and evaluating applicants at Touro College. Her writing, editing, and storytelling skills help others communicate their authentic selves with clarity and confidence.
Beena’s approach to mentorship reflects her philosophy of purposeful growth and authenticity. She encourages students to trust the process, embrace their personal stories, and present their strengths with clarity and compassion. Her guiding belief is simple but powerful: “You’re not here to sell yourself—you’re here to be yourself.”
Driven by her passion for blending Eastern and Western healing traditions, Beena became a certified Yoga Teacher, Health Coach, and Y4C (Yoga for Cancer) instructor. She is the Founder of The Yoga Movement, where she does holistic health coaching and partners with organizations to promote holistic health and well-being through education, partnerships, coaching, and retreats.
Beena continues to expand her skills in trauma-informed care, personal development, and integrative health to better support the physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of her patients’ lives. She is deeply committed to social impact initiatives focused on nature preservation, patient advocacy, inclusivity, health equity, and supporting underserved communities.
