Dr. Harmon grew up on a hobby farm surrounded by horses, chickens, cats, dogs, goats, and the occasional reptile. She completed her undergraduate degrees in biology and Spanish at Indiana University, earning High Distinction, General Honors Notation, and the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa membership.
Throughout her veterinary school journey, she demonstrated a strong commitment to helping others navigate the complex application process. She worked as a tour guide, admissions assistant, and student advisor, leveraging her firsthand experience to connect with prospective and current applicants. She served as the President of Colorado State University's Student Chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) and participated in the AAEP Retention Task Force.
In addition to her dedication to mentorship, Dr. Harmon held leadership positions and received notable recognition for her contributions to the field. Her exceptional performance and commitment to equine medicine earned her the Colorado State University Equine Surgical Service Award.
As a practicing veterinarian, Dr. Harmon's clinical interests include emergency medicine, surgery, and client communication. She understands the importance of not only providing exceptional medical care but also effectively communicating with pet owners to ensure the best possible outcomes.
In her role as an admissions coach, Dr. Harmon leverages her extensive knowledge of the veterinary application process to guide applicants through school selection and application strategies. She excels at identifying each applicant's traits and experiences, helping them present their strengths in the most competitive manner possible. She also emphasizes the importance of understanding the human component of veterinary medicine, which is often overlooked but essential for success in the field.
