Dr. Choe's educational journey began at Duke University, where he double majored in biology and chemistry. He then pursued his dental degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Driven by a desire to specialize and expand his knowledge, he completed specialty training in prosthodontics at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and earned a PhD in bioengineering from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Dr. Choe’s clinician role as a dentist for nearly eight years has allowed him to gain extensive experience in various aspects of dentistry, including implant surgeries, full-mouth rehabilitations, and digital dental technology. With over a decade of experience as an admissions coach and mentor, he helps students pursue graduate and professional education in dentistry.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Choe has made significant contributions to the field of tissue engineering, with numerous publications to his name. His involvement in the National Science Foundation's Innovation Corps program further highlights his dedication to advancing scientific knowledge and translating research into practical applications.
Dr. Choe's approach to coaching is flexible and tailored to each individual student. He takes the time to understand what motivates and inspires his students, allowing him to provide personalized guidance and support. His encouraging and upbeat demeanor helps to keep students motivated, even during challenging times. He strongly believes in the power of positive reinforcement and strives to draw out the best in each student's capabilities.
