Undergrad: University of Michigan
During college, Verena was inducted into the Mu Epsilon Delta Pre-Health Fraternity. She was also a member of the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP), Michigan Skate Collective, and UMichigan’s Pre-Vet Club. She has extensive experience supporting students in challenging science courses, acting as a tutor for hundreds of students during her undergraduate career. Verena was also recognized as a James B. Angell Scholar and earned the William Branstrom Award for her outstanding academic performance.
At the University of Michigan, Verena was a research assistant and eventually an undergraduate research fellow, where she investigated the role of genetics and sex in Alzheimer's Disease. Building on her diverse research experience, Verena now works as a clinical research coordinator in the Pulmonary Department at Rush University as she prepares to attend medical school.
As an MCAT tutor, Verena is passionate about personalizing lessons to fit each student’s learning style, schedule, and goals. She understands that studying for the MCAT can feel overwhelming. Her goal is to help students break the process down into manageable steps, build confidence, and reach their full potential. It's important to her to empower her students by giving them the skills and tools they need to succeed, as well as the confidence to take charge of their MCAT prep journey and experience.
