Undergrad: University of Maryland
Dental School: Harvard School of Dental Medicine
At Maryland, Nivi was involved in many volunteer opportunities through the American Red Cross, her university’s Residential Life program, and the Volunteer Income Tax Association, receiving the Honors College Community Service Award.
Nivi took a gap year while applying to dental school, during which she worked as a dental assistant in a pediatric office, continued volunteering, and practiced her dexterity. As someone who navigated the application process without a support system, Nivi wants to guide service-oriented applicants, including those without prior connections, to the dental field. At Harvard, Nivi was awarded the US Army Health Professions Scholarship.
As an active member of the dental community, Nivi has worked with diverse patient populations in various dental settings. She is also passionate about mentorship and helping students secure admission to dental school. Her experiences have enriched her understanding of the field, and she is excited to share her insights with aspiring dental professionals. Her strengths as a coach include breaking down the application process and going step-by-step to make applying less stressful, more manageable, and well-organized.
In each counseling session, Nivi tailors her approach to the individual needs of each student, recognizing that every candidate is unique. She starts by understanding the student’s goals, strengths, and areas for growth, which allows her to craft a strategic admissions profile. Nivi collaborates with applicants to develop a clear mission statement, using it as the foundation for a focused plan. Her sessions are structured and goal-oriented, offering a balance of guidance and encouragement. With a personalized approach, Nivi helps students build a comprehensive portfolio that showcases their strengths and ambitions, all while maximizing efficiency and maintaining flexibility.
