Ramin is a molecular biologist and Director of Partnerships for Research Initiative at Nucleate HQ, a non-profit organization dedicated to democratizing biotech education. With 14+ years of mentoring experience, he guides aspiring dental students through the admissions process, leveraging his own success in securing a full-ride scholarship to multiple DDS/PhD programs with a structured and comprehensive approach.

Ramin's academic journey began at California State University, Fullerton, where he graduated with honors, double majoring in biology and music, and obtaining minors in chemistry and psychology. During his undergraduate studies, he was the recipient of 13 awards and scholarships, demonstrating his academic excellence.

Ramin's research experience is extensive, with a focus on copper metabolism, antibiotic resistance, and HIV therapeutics. He decided to pursue the DDS/PhD track at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) to integrate his interests in both clinical and research domains. His PhD research focused on the genetics and genomics of head and neck cancers, seeking to understand the identity and function of chromosomal alterations that play a role in the evolution of tumor cells.

Throughout his academic and professional journey, Ramin has been recognized for his achievements. He was the recipient of an F30 Fellowship from the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), UCSF's Moritz-Heyman Discovery Fellowship, and the prestigious Achievement Rewards for College Scientists (ARCS) scholarship.

As a mentor, Ramin brings over 14 years of experience working with over 300 students of all ages and levels, from K-12 to post-baccalaureate, in topics such as biology, chemistry, and piano. He has coached numerous students for both college and professional school admissions. 

Ramin's approach to mentoring is highly structured and comprehensive, with a strong track record of success with past students. He is well familiar with the admissions requirements of dental schools, having participated in interviewing prospective students at UCSF and having been accepted into several DDS/PhD programs across the country with a full-ride scholarship.

Ramin has several areas of interest, including molecular biology, cancer genetics and genomics, CRISPR/Cas gene editing, and human anatomy, as well as business acumen in technology commercialization. He is also a classically trained pianist and instructor, an example of his diverse talents and interests.
