Currently completing a Food Animal Emphasis Large Animal Rotating Internship at Texas A&M, Dr. Drerup works closely with veterinary students across clinical rotations, providing one-on-one guidance, leading case discussions, and designing instructional materials that clarify complex concepts. Her experience extends to small animal and after-hours emergency medicine, where she also plays an instructional role, balancing clinical care with real-time teaching in high-pressure environments. Dr. Drerup’s teaching background also includes roles as a peer mentor in a Veterinary Physiology course and a teaching assistant in a Comparative Anatomy class, where she honed her ability to adapt her approach to different learning styles and academic needs.
With extensive experience in small animal emergency and food animal medicine, Dr. Drerup brings both clinical depth and real-world context to her admissions consulting. She’s been invited to present continuing education lectures and case presentations at national veterinary conferences, including multiple appearances at the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, where she was recognized in scholarship competitions for two consecutive years. Among her many academic honors are the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Clinical Excellence Award, the AABP Foundation Zoetis Scholarship, and over 50 competitive scholarships recognizing her leadership, academic achievement, and commitment to food animal medicine.
Students Dr. Drerup works with appreciate her approachable, down-to-earth style and her personal understanding of the highs and lows of veterinary education. Having navigated the veterinary school application process herself, Dr. Drerup now brings a coaching style grounded in resilience, critical feedback, and personalized strategy. Her goal is to help students not only succeed academically, but also find the veterinary program that’s the right fit for them. Dr. Drerup has mentored students who went on to gain admission to top veterinary programs in Texas, and is adept at guiding students through the TMDSAS application.
