Mia Sedgwick, Private MCAT Tutor at Inspira Advantage

Before matriculating at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Mia graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a BS in brain and cognitive science and mathematics, with a minor in biology. Mia has six years of tutoring experience, and students she has taught have increased their MCAT scores by an average of 10 points.

At MIT, Mia maintained a perfect GPA and earned the department’s Outstanding Undergraduate Academic Award. She was also inducted into Phi Beta Kappa for her academic excellence. Before entering medical school, Mia was a research assistant at the Feinberg School of Medicine, where she contributed to neurobiology studies involving mouse brain sectioning, genotyping, and neurosurgical support. Her background also includes work in youth sports and mentoring as an assistant soccer coach, and she was named an All-American Defender and Conference Champion as a high school team captain.

Mia’s dedication to service and teaching is reflected in her diverse and hands-on experiences. As an EMT with 1,700+ hours of volunteer service, she served as Director of Professional Development for MIT EMS, where she trained and certified over 50 EMTs and CPR providers. She also served as a physics grader and MCAT tutor, helping students gain a deeper understanding of test content and significantly improve their performance.

As an MCAT tutor, Mia draws upon her extensive academic, research, and clinical experiences to help students excel on the exam. She specializes in working with students from diverse academic backgrounds. Students she has tutored have achieved 515+ MCAT scores, improving their scores by an average of 10 points.

Mia is deeply passionate about tutoring and coaching because she has benefited from the guidance of phenomenal mentors herself. She understands how overwhelming the application process can be and works to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel heard, empowered, and inspired as they work through their MCAT prep plans.

Mia is excited to work with future healthcare professionals and looks forward to helping applicants take the next step toward higher MCAT scores.
