Dr. Amita Ghuman, Med School and BS/MD Admissions Consultant at Inspira Advantage

Dr. Amita is a board-certified general pediatrician who graduated from the Howard University BS/MD program. She served as an admissions reviewer for the Howard University College of Medicine before completing a pediatrics residency at the University of Pittsburgh Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. She has worked in the oncology/BMT unit at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, the pediatric emergency room at Howard County General Hospital in Columbia, Maryland, and at a pediatric urgent care in Fairfax, Virginia.

Throughout her medical education, Dr. Ghuman has been recognized with multiple awards and scholarships, including the $180,000 Capstone Scholarship, the Departmental Award in Internal Medicine, the Physician Scholar Award for the Mid-Atlantic Region III Annual Meeting of Hemophilia Treatment Centers, and induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.

Throughout her career, Dr. Ghuman has given educational lectures and presentations on a variety of pediatric topics, helped develop clinical criteria and guidelines, and has published posters and peer-reviewed research. Her scholarly work includes authorship in the Journal of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Pediatrics in Review, the Journal of Dermatology and Clinical Research, the Journal of Adolescent and Young Adult Oncology, and the World Journal of Gastroenterology. and given poster presentations. Currently, Dr. Ghuman is a Medical Director at Accuity Healthcare, reviewing medical charts for coding accuracy per ICD-10 guidelines. She also gives educational lectures and updates pediatric clinical criteria in this role and has helped train other doctors. 

As a counselor, Dr. Ghuman draws on her admissions experience, broad clinical background, and deep familiarity with BS/MD pathways to help students navigate the complex application processes with confidence and clarity.
