Before attending the University of Michigan, Dr. Hill completed a BS in biological sciences with a concentration in anatomy and physiology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and an MS in medical sciences with an emphasis in oral health sciences from Boston University. In dental school, she received an award for excellence in clinical care and was actively involved in student life through the American Student Dental Association (ASDA), the student council, and the Board Officer for the Xi Psi Phi International Dental Fraternity. In addition to her work as a student interviewer, Dr. Hill also served on a university-wide committee for student mental health services and mentored pre-dental and early-year dental students.
Dr. Hill began her professional journey as an Insurance and Scheduling Coordinator for an oral surgeon and earned certification in California as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant during a gap year prior to dental school. Following dental school, Dr. Hill taught as an adjunct clinical assistant professor in the Department of Cariology and Restorative Sciences at the University of Michigan while practicing general dentistry. After completing her DDS, she practiced as a general dentist in Ohio for several years before pursuing orthodontic residency training.
Dr. Hill currently owns and practices at Otter Orthodontics in Clackamas, Oregon. As a leader in her field, Dr. Hill has invested in business and practice management education through the American Association of Orthodontists’ Mastering the Business of Orthodontics program, which includes coursework from the Wharton School of Business. She is passionate about organized dentistry and currently serves as Vice President of the Oregon State Society of Orthodontists, as well as a member of the Mentorship Task Force Committee of the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists.
Dr. Hill’s specialty training culminated in an MS in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics from Loma Linda University, where she solidified her passion for the field and participated in ongoing research projects, including a patent currently underway with her former thesis advisors. She has completed advanced training in clear aligner therapy, including the Aligner Intensive Fellowship, the Clear Aligner Advanced Residency Education program, and Advanced Practice with Invisalign, and remains deeply committed to continuing education and clinical excellence across her work.
As an admissions coach, Dr. Hill leverages her years of experience interviewing applicants and evaluating dental school and residency applications. She is dedicated to helping applicants craft competitive submissions that highlight their unique strengths. Students she has mentored have been accepted to dental schools at the University of Michigan, Boston University, and the University of the Pacific.
Known for her adaptability and organization, she guides students at every stage of their journey—navigating challenges, building confidence, and creating a structured, methodical approach to preparation and success. Her favorite part of coaching is building meaningful relationships with her students and helping them uncover the spark that grows into a powerful and personal application.
