Palak S.

During her academic journey, Palak conducted significant research on modeling individual sleep cycles and the efficacy of copper-infused bioactive glass in diabetic wound healing, presenting her findings at national conferences and securing awards for her outstanding presentations.

In the past year, Palak has worked at Boston Children’s Hospital, where she was involved in cutting-edge translational clinical research on inflammatory bowel disease in pediatric patients. This role enabled her to apply her computational and biological expertise in a clinical setting, further honing her analytical and problem-solving skills. Outside of her full-time position, Palak developed an award-winning generative AI-powered application for a hackathon hosted by the National Academy of Medicine, focusing on addressing stigmas and disparities contributing to the STI epidemic. 

Palak's approach to MCAT tutoring is deeply informed by her own experience of balancing a full-time work schedule with rigorous preparation. She understands the importance of time management and provides practical strategies to help students efficiently allocate their study time. 

As a teaching assistant for Molecular Biology at Northwestern, Palak tutored and mentored pre-med students through office hours and classroom discussions, all of which equipped her with a complex understanding of the foundational knowledge required for the MCAT and expanded her teaching skills. Palak’s role as a senior writer for a student-run scientific publication at Northwestern involved breaking down complex scientific concepts into easily understandable content through analogies and comic-style storytelling techniques, which is a skill that helps her MCAT students grasp difficult subjects and retain information effectively. She also served as the president of both her a cappella team and a regenerative engineering research club, demonstrating her ability to effectively lead and motivate students.

With her extensive research background, strong analytical skills, and compassionate teaching style, Palak is particularly strong in helping students master the hard sciences portions of the MCAT. She is committed to equipping students with the strategies and confidence needed to excel on the MCAT and beyond, ensuring they are well-prepared for their journey to medical school.
