Before pursuing higher education in dental medicine, Dr. Gramacy graduated from the University of Florida (UF) with a BS in applied physiology and kinesiology with a minor in Spanish. She received multiple scholarships at UF, including four years of being named to the University of Florida Dean’s Academic Honor List and being selected for the President’s Honor Roll and the State of Florida Academic Scholars Award
Dr. Gramacy also has a robust academic and clinical research background, beginning in her undergraduate years and continuing through dental school and residency. Her work spans oral medicine, oral health policy, behavioral neuroscience, and periodontology. She has presented her findings at multiple regional and national venues, including the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), the San Francisco Dental Society, and UCSF Research and Clinical Excellence Day. She recently presented at the national Northeastern Implant Symposium, where she lectured on contemporary sinus lift techniques and the evolving criteria for simultaneous implant placement.
Dr. Gramacy worked in the Office of Admissions and Outreach at UCSF and Columbia, gaining extensive, behind-the-scenes insight into the admissions process. Her responsibilities included processing applications for pre-doctoral and post-graduate programs, coordinating official interview days, and managing and leading the 100+ member Student Ambassador Program. These experiences provide her with a clear understanding of what admissions committees value in strong and competitive applicants. She has also served as an interviewer for the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine’s periodontics residency.
