Undergrad: Brigham Young University
Benjamin’s academic accomplishments include multiple scholarships and awards, such as the Jau-Fei Chen Scholarship, Lewis Medical Foundation Scholarship, and the Math Department Excellence Award. He was also awarded a half-tuition scholarship at Brigham Young University. Benjamin has also worked as an urgent care medical assistant, providing him with both tutoring and clinical perspectives to share with aspiring physicians.
As a lead researcher in skeletal muscle physiology, Benjamin’s published abstracts and first-author manuscripts demonstrate his expertise in experimental design and scientific communication—key strengths he brings to tutoring, particularly for the MCAT’s Chem/Phys and Bio/Biochem sections. His research experience allows him to teach students how to break down graphs, experimental passages, and data-heavy problems with confidence and clarity.
What sets Benjamin apart is his ability to combine goal-setting and structure with genuine encouragement and flexibility. He listens carefully, adapts to each student’s learning style, and meets them where they are, whether they need intensive content support, strategic test-taking help, or an accountability partner. He’s especially passionate about helping students stay on track with custom study schedules and practical, actionable strategies.
Benjamin’s love for tutoring stems from the mentorship he received during his own pre-med journey. For him, seeing students grow in confidence and achieve their goals is one of the most rewarding parts of the job.
