Owen has dedicated hundreds of hours to tutoring students in organic and general chemistry, both one-on-one and in small groups, as a learning assistant for Boston University’s Department of Chemistry and as a peer tutor at the school’s Education Resource Center. His expertise spans general chemistry, organic chemistry, and MCAT prep, where he specializes in helping students strengthen content understanding, master test strategies, and build long-term confidence. A National Merit Scholar and consistent Dean’s List honoree, Owen has been consistently praised by students for his ability to explain concepts from multiple angles and make difficult material approachable, relevant, and memorable.
What makes Owen especially effective as a tutor is his highly adaptive, student-centered approach. He takes time to understand each student’s learning style, motivations, and roadblocks, then tailors a plan that grows with them. Owen creates customized study plans and test-taking strategies tailored to each student’s strengths and areas for improvement.
Whether he’s helping a student overcome low scores or pushing them toward top-tier performance, Owen fosters clarity, confidence, and deep mastery, always focusing on how to think like a test-maker, not just memorize facts. He is committed to helping students think like a test-maker, stay motivated, and trust in their progress as they strive for their target scores.
