Dr. Kelly’s achievements include graduating magna cum laude with a BS in bioenvironmental sciences from Texas A&M University and receiving the Ultradent Esthetic Dentistry Award for his work and passion in esthetic dentistry. His professional career spans private practice, corporate dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and community-based care, giving him a well-rounded perspective on the profession.

While in dental school, Dr. Kelly was a member of the pre-dental mentorship program, helping early college students prepare for applying to dental school. His experience as a mentor and interviewer has proven extremely valuable in helping students succeed with applying to dental schools. Dr. Kelly has firsthand experience working with admissions committees and has a wealth of knowledge on what schools are looking for in applicants.

In his current role, Dr. Kelly treats underserved and underrepresented populations of all ages in South Texas, with a special focus on preventative education. Before his time at the clinic, Dr. Kelly worked for a corporate dental practice/DSO, a private practice, and a pediatric dental office. He has seen almost every type of practice and landed on community dentistry as his passion.

As an admissions mentor, Dr. Kelly uses his type A organizational skills and clearly outlined goals to help his students excel. He knows that applying to dental school can be confusing and challenging for applicants. To help students apply with confidence, he uses a calm demeanor and time budgeting skills to make the process as smooth as possible. Dr. Kelly is adept at forming lasting connections with students, and his experience with the application and admissions process proves to be invaluable. He adapts to each student’s way of learning and communicating, making sure to be as available as needed.
