Prior to pursuing his MD from the University of Ottawa, Nikola graduated with distinction from the University of Windsor, earning an honors degree in biological sciences and completing an undergraduate thesis in biomedical sciences. At the University of Windsor and the University of Ottawa Medical School, he engaged in impactful research across diverse fields, such as molecular biochemistry, physician health and wellness, and interventional cardiology. He also led the R&D portfolio at Enactus Windsor, spearheading innovative student-led projects, including the nationally recognized Mycolite presented at the 2023 National Enactus Presentations, just two years after its development.
Nikola also served as the Volunteers Coordinator for the Youth Advisory Council at a community hospital in Windsor, connecting thousands of high school students with mental health resources and initiatives throughout the city. His leadership extended to Jack.org, where he was president of the University of Windsor chapter, empowering young leaders to innovate mental health initiatives nationally. Additionally, Nikola brings nearly a decade of tutoring experience across diverse subjects, including leading study groups, tutoring in science and chemistry at the college level, and providing personalized exam help in organic chemistry.
