As a UAB admissions committee member, Dr. Singh reviewed applications and conducted MMI interviews, developed application criteria, and rated candidates. He also advised in selection meetings and led orientation for accepted students. At Indiana University Health, Dr. Singh is a board member of the Program Education Committee, where he works with faculty and residents to develop educational curriculum for integrated and independent plastic surgery residency programs. He is also the Founder of the Indiana University Plastic Surgery Research Group.
Dr. Singh’s clinical and academic focus centers on hand, peripheral nerve, and complex reconstructive surgery. He has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications and presented at more than 100 national and international conferences, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the Plastic Surgery Research Council. His research spans plastic surgery, surgical education, health services, and the intersection of medicine and social media. His work has been featured in The Plasticsfella, UAB News, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He was also honored with awards such as Best Presentation at the Indiana University Plastic Surgery Research Day and a Top 25 Poster Recognition at the ASPS Annual Meeting. In addition to his academic work, Dr. Singh is the founder and CEO of Sky Research LLC, a company dedicated to improving research productivity and collaboration.
With 10 years of coaching experience, Dr. Singh has mentored hundreds of students at various stages, from pre-medical to medical training, providing guidance in research, academics, and professional development. As a medical student, he founded and led multidisciplinary research groups that connected students with faculty mentors and trained over 100 students in research design and execution, earning institutional recognition for his impact.
Students who have worked with Dr. Singh have gained admission to some of the nation’s most prestigious medical schools, including Johns Hopkins, the Mayo Clinic, Duke, NYU, Baylor, and the University of Michigan, among many others. He has also guided numerous students into competitive medical specialties, including integrated plastic surgery.
Dr. Singh’s approach to mentorship is grounded in clarity, honesty, and strategy. He helps students build cohesive, standout narratives that reflect their personal motivations and academic vision, while navigating the admissions process with intention. His strengths lie in strategic storytelling, research integration, and identifying blind spots in an applicant’s profile.
