Tashauna began her academic journey in Jamaica before relocating to Florida at age 18. She studied at Miami Dade College and later earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Florida. Her interest in dentistry was sparked by a serendipitous conversation with a dental student, leading her to pursue post-baccalaureate studies to prepare for dental school as a non-traditional student. Tashauna has extensive work and leadership experience, having served as a retail store manager and the lead orthodontic assistant at Beautiful Smiles in North Miami.
Tashauna’s passion for dentistry and helping others is evident through her active involvement in community service, particularly focusing on improving access to dental care. Her transition to the field of dentistry was driven by a desire to make a significant impact, and she has since dedicated herself to mentoring and tutoring undergraduate students. Tashauna takes great pleasure in breaking down the dental school application process, making it less intimidating for prospective students.
As a coach, Tashauna excels in helping candidates craft stand-out personal statements and secondary essays. Her leadership roles and diverse background make her a valuable resource for students navigating the complexities of dental school admissions.
