As an undergraduate, TaeYoung was actively involved in organizations such as the University of Buffalo Pre-Dental Club, Strength and Power Club, and the Outdoors Adventure Club, demonstrating his commitment to both intellectual growth and personal balance. Throughout his higher education journey, TaeYoung has been awarded numerous scholarships, including the Pride of NY Scholarship, the Alma Scully Scholarship, the NYS Excelsior Scholarship, and the UB Gala Endowed Scholarship.
TaeYoung’s academic foundation is further supported by rigorous coursework in gross human anatomy and exercise physiology, as well as his extended service as an anatomy course teaching assistant. This role sharpened his ability to distill complex content and deliver it with clarity.
TaeYoung’s professional experience spans multiple dental practices in New York, where he served as a dental assistant. At both Monroe Dental Clinic and Rightly Dental, he excelled in patient-centered care, achieving a satisfaction rate of over 95% through efficient clinical support and adherence to the highest standards of safety and protocol. These hands-on roles not only grounded his technical knowledge but also deepened his empathy and communication skills—qualities he now brings to his work with pre-dental students.
As a tutor, TaeYoung specializes in developing personalized study plans, providing one-on-one conceptual tutoring, and offering comprehensive DAT strategy coaching. Students he works with benefit from his meticulous organization, deep content knowledge, and calm, structured approach to test prep. Many of the students TaeYoung has taught have scored as high as 460 or higher on the DAT. TaeYoung’s greatest strengths as a coach are his ability to meet students where they are, identify key areas for growth, and help them develop habits and mindsets that sustain long-term success.
TaeYoung is passionate about mentoring because he understands the challenges and anxieties that pre-dental students face. He takes pride in not only helping students manage their DAT prep while remaining a steadfast mentor throughout the process.
