Dr. Ghuman’s exceptional performance during her medical studies was recognized by her induction into the medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha, as well as the receipt of prestigious scholarships, including the Howard University Founder’s Scholarship and the Howard University College of Medicine Trustee Scholarship. Following medical school, Dr. Ghuman completed a preliminary year in internal medicine at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and a four-year diagnostic radiology residency at Johns Hopkins, where she served as Chief Resident.
As a committed advocate for her field, Dr. Ghuman has served as President of the Resident and Fellows Section of the Maryland Radiological Society and actively participated in state and federal-level policy advocacy. Dr. Ghuman is a published physician-scientist with peer-reviewed research in various journals, including Abdominal Radiology and the Journal of the American College of Radiology. Her work spans breast cancer detection, COVID-related biopsy delays, complex abdominopelvic imaging, gynecologic MRI, and emergent CT findings. Dr. Ghuman has received multiple awards and recognitions throughout her medical training journey, including the Dr. Charles H. Kelley Award, the Sterling Lloyd Prize in Clinical Medicine, the Merck Manual Award, and numerous endowed clinical and academic achievement awards.
As an admissions coach, Dr. Ghuman draws on her experience reviewing medical school and residency applications, as well as interviewing candidates, and her background as a peer leader during medical school to provide personalized guidance for each student. She builds meaningful connections with BS/MD and medical school applicants to help them succeed while identifying each student’s strengths and what sets them apart, building their confidence and helping them craft strong applications. Her greatest strengths include her leadership skills, approachability, sense of responsibility, and organization.
