At the University of Waterloo, Duale served as a TA for biology and chemistry courses for four years. He also acted as a peer mentor, providing mentorship and meaningful guidance to first- and second-year students as they navigate through the challenges of undergraduate education. Duale has also served as a STEM instructor at STEM Camp and a Casper tutor at the University of Toronto.
Duale has been recognized for his academic excellence, consistently ranking among the top three students in his medical school cohort each year. He has earned prestigious honors, such as the President’s Scholarship, the Scholar Competency Award, and an Undergraduate Student Research Award from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada. His research on artificial intelligence in mental health and racial disparities in anticoagulation outcomes has been published in the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis.
Beyond academics, Duale is committed to mentorship and equity-driven initiatives, having founded student organizations that promote collaboration, inclusion, and community engagement. He also served as the Ottawa Chapter Vice President of the Muslim Medical Association of Canada, and currently serves as Vice President of the Black Medical Student Association of Ottawa. Duale is passionate about integrating clinical excellence, teaching, and service to make a meaningful impact on future healthcare professionals.
Duale specializes in helping students build strong foundations in all MCAT sections. Students Duale has taught have been accepted to top Canadian medical schools, including the University of Toronto, McMaster University, and the University of Ottawa. His teaching style emphasizes clarity, strategy, and confidence, equipping students with the knowledge and test-taking skills they need to excel on the exam.
