Jeffrey H.

In addition to tutoring, Jeffrey has a strong research background in neuroscience, psychiatry, and cancer biology. He has conducted research at Emory Healthcare on treatment-resistant depression, where he investigated neuromodulation therapy efficacy based on genetics. He has also contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications spanning topics from molecular genetics to brain disorders. His work has been published in journals such as Genes & Diseases, Anticancer Research, and microPublication Biology. Beyond academics, Jeffrey has a passion for mental health advocacy. He volunteers as a crisis counselor for the Crisis Text Line and leads support groups at the Emory Autism Center.

 Jeffrey's tutoring experience started with teaching and hosting educational activities for his younger brother. He continued his work teaching children and working in underprivileged schools as a summer camp counselor in Chicago. His early experiences have helped guide him to be the patient and personable teacher he is today. 

As an MCAT tutor, Jeffrey’s strengths lie in his approachable and patient teaching style. He believes that rapport and a casual learning environment are important for students to be successful. Jeffrey’s experience as both a supplemental instructor and teaching assistant has equipped him to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs.
