Dental School: Harvard School of Dental Medicine
Tashauna began her academic journey in Jamaica before relocating to Florida at age 18. She studied at Miami Dade College, later graduating from the University of Florida. Her interest in dentistry was sparked by a serendipitous conversation with a dental student, leading her to pursue post-baccalaureate studies to prepare for dental school as a non-traditional student. Tashauna has extensive work and leadership experience as a retail store manager and the lead orthodontic assistant at Beautiful Smiles in North Miami.
Tashauna's academic path eventually led her to the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she served as Class President. With a top DAT score, she excels at simplifying complex topics and has a proven track record of helping students achieve their academic and professional goals.
Tashauna's passion for tutoring stems from her experience navigating the DAT, often without the necessary resources or mentors to guide her. This firsthand experience has given her a deep understanding of how daunting and inaccessible the DAT prep process can feel. Her goal is to provide comprehensive support to those on this journey.
As a tutor, Tashauna brings patience, empathy, knowledge, and resourcefulness to her work. Her diverse background and experience working with students from various walks of life enable her to convey information in a clear and accessible manner. She is committed to supporting each student, adjusting her approach to meet their needs, and helping them advance at their own pace.
Tashauna takes a personalized approach in her tutoring sessions, tailoring each session to align with the student's objectives, current level of understanding, and overall expectations. She creates a supportive environment where students can thrive and achieve their goals, providing targeted tutoring and specific strategies to optimize study time and improve exam performance.
As a member of the Inspira Advantage team, Tashauna brings her passion for tutoring, her understanding of the challenges faced by traditional and non-traditional applicants, and her commitment to making the DAT prep process less intimidating.
