Undergrad: Point Loma Nazarene University
Sam graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biology from Point Loma Nazarene University, where he not only achieved academic excellence but also demonstrated strong leadership potential, earning him the prestigious Rising Alumni Award. During his time at Point Loma, Sam participated in extensive research focusing on the interaction between tumor-associated macrophages and glioblastoma cell lines. He also excelled in collegiate debate, garnering national ranking, and served as an RA.
Sam’s range of teaching experiences, including roles as a martial arts instructor, debate coach judge, and tutor, allow him to connect with students and guide them through complex subjects. Central to Sam's teaching philosophy is the idea of forming a partnership with his students rather than simply maintaining a traditional tutor-student relationship. He understands that preparing for the MCAT can be an overwhelming process and strives to provide guidance, support, and empowerment to help students perform their best.
Aside from academics, Sam considers himself a jack-of-all-trades, having dabbled in many hobbies throughout his life. Some of his interests include martial arts (achieving a first-degree black belt in taekwondo), playing guitar and piano, producing and performing music, DJing, playing video games, photography, video, and YouTube content creation, playing basketball, and dominating in Wii Sports.
