Dr. Knight's journey in the field of veterinary medicine began at the University of Vermont, where she received her BS in animal science and music performance. She also minored in chemistry and zoology, and served as an admissions ambassador This solid foundation in animal science laid the groundwork for her future success in veterinary school and her commitment to providing exceptional care to animals.

Dr. Knight is a highly skilled and compassionate veterinarian dedicated to delivering exceptional care to her patients. With a strong foundation in both clinical expertise and empathetic client communication, she excels in general surgery and internal medicine, with a particular focus on endocrinology and neurology. Before her current role, she honed her skills in farm animal medicine, gaining valuable experience at prestigious institutions such as Cambridge University. Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Knight continually pursues advanced education to stay at the forefront of veterinary medicine. Her true passion lies in empowering pet owners with the knowledge they need to make informed, confident decisions for their beloved companions.

Throughout her time in higher education, Dr. Knight has demonstrated a strong commitment to mentoring and supporting aspiring veterinary students. She has helped numerous students navigate the complex and often daunting process of applying to veterinary schools, offering expert guidance on various aspects of the application, including editing personal essays, assisting with school selection.

Dr. Knight's approach to mentoring is centered around breaking down the application process into smaller, manageable pieces, helping students stay organized and on track while minimizing stress. She understands the challenges and anxieties that can arise during this critical period and is committed to providing the support and guidance needed to help students put together their best applications.

With firsthand experience in applying to both domestic and international veterinary schools, Dr. Knight possesses an in-depth understanding of the vet school application process and insights into international standardized testing requirements. Her strategic approach allows her to provide up-to-date and relevant advice, ensuring students are well-prepared and confident as they work to become veterinarians.

Dr. Hoareau graduated with a DVM from Toulouse National Veterinary School in France before completing a highly competitive internship in medicine and surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. He then pursued a residency in emergency and critical care at the University of California, Davis, where he later earned a Ph.D. in integrative pathobiology. Dr. Hoareau is board certified by both the American and European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, and is a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Hoareau has a wealth of experience in both veterinary and medical fields, having served on two admissions committees and mentored numerous candidates into veterinary and medical schools. Dr. Hoareau also has extensive expertise in basic and translational research. As an Associate Professor, he directs translational research in the Department of Emergency Medicine and serves as an investigator at the Nora Eccles Harrison Cardiovascular Research and Training Institute (CVRTI). His research focuses on hemorrhagic shock, cardiac arrest, and mitochondrial pathobiology to develop novel interventions to improve survival from acute and critical illnesses in humans and pets. 

Dr. Hoareau’s research has been recognized through various prestigious awards and grants, including the Clinician Scientist Fellow Award from the American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation, UC Davis Research and Education in Advanced Clinical Health (REACH) Award, UC Davis William Pritchard Award, and the CASODOM Award, combining clinical expertise with a dedication to improving veterinary practices and outcomes.

During his Ph.D., Dr. Hoareau served as a clinical attending at UC Davis' prestigious Emergency and Critical Care Service, where he trained veterinary interns and residents in one of the top-ranked veterinary emergency programs in the world.

Dr. Hoareau's passion for coaching applicants is rooted in his dedication to nurturing the next generation of professionals in the veterinary and medical fields. He believes in the transformative power of education and mentorship and has witnessed the impact personalized guidance can have on an individual's career trajectory.

Dr. Hoareau specializes in helping candidates break down the application process into manageable steps, making it more approachable and less daunting. He excels in helping candidates identify and articulate their strengths, crafting personalized narratives that highlight their suitability for their chosen fields. Dr. Hoareau’s customized approach boosts applicants' confidence and improves the quality of their applications.

He loves seeing students succeed and takes pride in playing a part in their journey. His approach to admissions counseling is grounded in fostering a deep understanding of the applicant and providing tailored support to help them achieve their dreams.

Dr. Bartholomew's journey began at Ohio State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in agriculture (animal sciences) with a minor in neuroscience, graduating magna cum laude with Honors Research Distinction. She was involved in numerous extracurricular activities, including serving as Vice President and President of the Pre-Veterinary Medical Association, tutoring and advising students, and participating in two international research internships. One took place in South Africa, where she worked with great white sharks, seals, dolphins, and other cetaceans, and the other took place in South America, where she provided spay/neuter and other veterinary wellness services to underserved communities. She also received the CFAES Outstanding Senior Award and was an American Society of Animal Sciences Undergraduate Scholar.

At Ohio State's veterinary school, Dr. Bartholomew demonstrated her leadership through roles such as President of her class, participation in student organizations, and involvement in research culminating in a first-author publication. She received the SAVMA Senior Service Award and the Gertrude Hoeger Award in Clinical Biomedical Research. She was an active member of organizations, such as VCA, VIDA, and VetPrep, where she interviewed candidates and participated in new student orientation.

Dr. Bartholomew’s passion for leadership and service continued with a nomination to attend the Veterinary Leadership Institute’s Veterinary Leadership Experience (VLE), an organization dedicated to facilitating the growth of servant leaders within the veterinary profession. With a passion for travel and service, Dr. Bartholomew went to Thailand to study elephants and their cultural importance to the country.

After graduating magna cum laude with her DVM, Dr. Bartholomew pursued mixed animal practice in rural Pennsylvania and participated as a veterinarian for the Willow 300 Sled Dog Race. She has also written a chapter for the Five Minute Consult and continues to participate in Ohio State's file review process and the Veterinary Leadership Institute's Veterinary Leadership Experience.

In her current role at Veterinary Referral Center Malvern, Dr. Batholomew is an associate emergency veterinarian, Director of the ER Immerse Program, and the Externship Coordinator. These roles and her time serving on the Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine admissions committee have provided her with keen insights into how applicants can stand out and present their best selves to top vet schools. 

Dr. Bartholomew is dedicated to helping new veterinarians grow and thrive, and she extends this same commitment to aspiring applicants. She enjoys guiding individuals through the admissions process in a way that feels manageable, attainable, and empowering. Her strengths as a coach include helping candidates with self-exploration to develop the most compelling application and encouraging them to maintain mental health while pursuing their passions. 

As an admissions counselor, Dr. Bartholomew combines her enthusiasm for mentoring with a holistic approach to guiding students toward their goals. She provides a structured plan for success while fostering a deep understanding of each applicant's unique attributes and desires. Her approach is grounded in genuine support and connection, ensuring that each individual receives tailored guidance that empowers them throughout the admissions process.
