Apexa's passion for sports medicine began in high school when she shadowed her school's athletic trainer. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in athletic training from the University of Georgia, gaining firsthand experience working with high-level student-athletes, many of whom became professionals. During her gap year, she worked at a private clinic, developing and implementing exercise rehabilitation programs for patients.
Apexa pursued a Master of medical science in physician assistant studies at Lincoln Memorial University and has been working in orthopedics and sports medicine ever since. She has experience in orthopedic surgery, treating athletes on the sidelines, and seeing patients in outpatient clinics. She has also worked at Resurgens Orthopedics, the largest multi-specialty orthopedic group in Georgia, and the Cedars Sinai Orthopedics Department, a top nationally-ranked hospital system in Los Angeles.
Apexa's knowledge and passion for medicine, combined with her experience as a coach, make her an ideal PA school admissions counselor. She genuinely enjoys guiding students in the right direction to help them achieve their academic goals.
Apexa takes the time to individualize each counseling session to fit the needs of students on their journey to become physician assistants. Her greatest strengths are her listening, organization, and essay editing skills. She has a calming and caring personality that helps alleviate the stress of the application process. She is a very proactive and motivational individual when it comes to getting things done and has helped numerous PA students navigate the application cycle.
