During her undergraduate years at Virginia Tech, Danielle demonstrated her passion for research and mentorship. She worked in a laboratory for five years, conducting independent research that led to a publication. Her commitment to leadership and personal growth was evident in her role as the president of the school's Polo Club (horses) and her decision to study biological conservation in Sydney, Australia.
After graduation, Danielle took a gap year to gain valuable experience before applying to vet school. During this time, she worked as an intern at an equine rehabilitation center and as a technician at a small animal emergency clinic. Her perseverance paid off when she was accepted to VMCVM. Danielle continues to demonstrate her strong work ethic and dedication to her field. She works as a necropsy technician at VMCVM, a small animal emergency technician during breaks, and finds time to pursue her passion for running in her free time.
Danielle's greatest strength as a mentor is her ability to see the best in others and her genuine excitement when someone expresses an interest in pursuing veterinary medicine. She takes a structured yet encouraging approach, ensuring students feel supported while navigating the admissions process. With a keen eye for detail, she helps students refine their applications while keeping their big-picture goals in focus.
