Athena’s journey began at Lafayette College, where she completed her undergraduate studies before advancing to the Physician Assistant Studies program at Marist College. During her time as a PA student, Athena not only excelled academically but also demonstrated strong leadership skills. She actively engaged with prospective students, conducting tours of the PA facilities and collaborating with her peers and faculty to influence admission decisions, demonstrating her dedication to the field and her commitment to helping others.
Athena's passion for medicine and care extends far beyond the boundaries of her professional life. She has dedicated her time and expertise to building medical infrastructure in Peru and participating in medical missions in Costa Rica during her school breaks. After graduating, Athena continued to give back to her community by volunteering on the admissions team of her PA program, where she helped conduct interviews and grade practical exams. Her exceptional contributions were recognized with an induction into the prestigious Alpha Phi Honors Society.
Throughout her professional journey, Athena has gained a diverse range of experiences that have enriched her understanding of various fields of medicine and the challenges faced by patients. She began her career at the renowned Yale Neonatal Intensive Care Unit before moving to the West Coast to practice orthopedics. Later, she returned to the East Coast to specialize in behavioral medicine. Today, she works as a Physician Assistant for the Center for Emotional Health.
As a counselor, Athena draws upon her extensive knowledge and experience to provide expert guidance to aspiring physician assistants. She understands the stress and pressure that comes with applying to PA school and offers her perspective on what admissions teams look for in future students. Athena takes a personalized approach, dedicating time to truly understanding each individual's aspirations and working diligently to help them achieve their PA goals.
