From a young equestrian who aspired to be an equine veterinarian, Jourdan evolved into a laboratory animal specialist, a shift that happened while studying Biology at the University of Washington. Her exposure to various veterinary medicine specialties through experiences such as working as a veterinary assistant, performing bovine pregnancy checks, studying conservation medicine abroad, and assisting university laboratory animal veterinarians, made her realize her true calling.

Jourdan's dedication towards laboratory animal medicine was further solidified in veterinary school, where she obtained her DVM from Washington State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. She not only mentored other students but also worked in the research laboratory of a veterinary neurologist. Her persistence saw her secure competitive student positions in renowned universities like Stanford, Tufts, MIT, Washington, and Missouri.

Jourdan's commitment to her field is evident in her post-graduation journey as well. She was selected for a competitive residency in laboratory animal medicine at the University of Washington. After her residency, she entered the PhD program in Molecular Medicine and Mechanisms of Disease at the same university. As a certified specialist in laboratory animal medicine, she is an active mentor for veterinary residents and continues to do biomedical research, primarily focusing on acute lung injury and host immune responses to zoonotic diseases.

Kali's undergraduate career was marked by extensive involvement in extracurricular activities, including club soccer, serving as a UNHHealth and Wellness Mental Health intern, peer wellness educator, and student admissions ambassador. She also founded the university's first mental health peer education curriculum and "The Voices of UNH," a narrative-based initiative focused on mental health awareness.

Before medical school, Kali spent two gap years as the primary clinical research coordinator for three studies in the psycho-oncology department at Dartmouth Health. During this time, she became a certified hospice volunteer and a "Survivors of Suicide Loss" speaker and support group facilitator with the NH chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). 

At Duke, Kali demonstrated her leadership and commitment to community health. She served as VP of Duke HealthCares, a student-led initiative assisting formerly incarcerated individuals in navigating the healthcare system. Her work in this area earned her the Chancellor's Service Fellowship. Kali was also on the executive board of the First Generation, Low Income Student Organization, served as a patient advocate for Duke's Black Maternity Health Equity Initiative, and was a member of Hand2Hold, which 3D prints devices for persons with hand amputations in Durham.

Academically, Kali is involved in orthopedic oncology research, examining social determinants of health and oncological outcomes among Sarcoma patients, as well as foot, ankle, and spine deformity research.

Kali’s non-traditional path to medicine has given her a specialized perspective that she is eager to share with all aspiring medical students. With her diverse experiences, strong academic background, and genuine passion for making the medical school application process more accessible, Kali is well-equipped to guide and support pre-medical students on their journey to becoming physicians.

Karin’s passion for counseling stems from her own experience of not completing high school in the U.S. and the challenges she faced in adjusting to the educational system. With the incredible support of friends and mentors, she navigated these challenges and is motivated to give back by guiding others.

Born in Iran, Karin immigrated to San Jose, California after high school, where she began her academic journey at West Valley College, earning associate degrees in biology and chemistry. She then transferred to UC Berkeley, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in molecular and cell biology. During her time at UC Berkeley, Karin gained research experience in Dr. Werb's laboratory in the Department of Anatomy at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Her research focused on neutrophils and the innate immune system, demonstrating her interest in the complex interactions between cells and their environments.

After graduating from UC Berkeley, Karin joined the Diaz Lab in the Neurosurgery Department at UCSF as a staff research associate. Her research in the Diaz Lab involved applying molecular approaches to identify pathways involved in glioma progression, further solidifying her expertise in molecular biology and cell biology.

Karin worked towards her PhD thesis project in Dr. Bush's laboratory, focusing on understanding how mesenchymal cell polarity is established and how it is coordinated during the morphogenesis of craniofacial structures. This research reflects her passion for understanding the intricate processes that govern cellular behavior and development.

Karin is proficient in histology, cell culture, flow cytometry, staining, and DNA extraction. Her strong research background and dedication to mentorship make her an ideal guide for students navigating the complexities of scientific research and the medical school application process.

One of Karin’s greatest strengths lies in helping students tailor their applications to reflect their personal experiences and goals. She ensures that each application is crafted for the specific school, making it both personal and compelling.

As a first-generation immigrant in one of the 13 schools offering a dual degree program in dentistry, Karin brings a unique perspective and understanding of the challenges that students from diverse backgrounds face. Her experience allows her to connect with students on a personal level, guiding them through the complexities of the application process.

His academic journey began at the University of Southern California, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in neuroscience with a minor in healthcare studies. During his undergraduate studies, Karthik demonstrated a strong commitment to research and community service. He worked as a synaptic electrophysiology research assistant, an ambulance EMT, and a vice president for a student-run veteran’s rehabilitation organization. During the summer, he worked as a private tutor, helping local students in his community and honing his coaching skills.

Karthik's experience in the pharmaceutical industry includes working as a business development intern for Neurocrine Biosciences, where he screened academic institutes and upcoming startups for novel neuropsychiatric therapeutics. He also served as a clinical case investigator during the COVID-19 pandemic, triaging outbreaks in the LA Unified School District community.

Karthik earned a Master’s degree in stem cell biology from USC, where he explored the prospect of new stem-cell-based methods for use in antifibrotics and next-generation (CAR) cell therapy. He worked as a lab assistant for kidney organoid research at USC.

Karthik worked at City of Hope as a clinical genetics assistant, supporting genetic counseling and precision medicine for patients facing cancer. Karthik is interested in clinical trial equity, cancer outcomes, immuno-oncology therapeutics, and the power of venture capital in advancing medicine.

Katherine graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 2020. She is currently in her first year at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Katherine was inducted into the engineering honor society, Tau Beta Pi, and received the Robert Edward Reiss Award in Chemical Engineering for outstanding promise in biochemical engineering.

In college, Katherine conducted clinical research at the Penn Frontotemporal Degeneration Center and the New York-Presbyterian Neurological Intensive Care Unit. Katherine was a teaching assistant in the chemistry lab and led a clinical research program at the Mt. Sinai hospital system. She also served as president of her Greek organization and was a pianist in a classical chamber ensemble.

In medical school, Katherine has already joined clinical research projects, community clinics, and interest groups. She is interested in pursuing a career in a surgical subspecialty. Katherine is actively involved in the admissions process as an interviewer and has spent much of her time mentoring others applying to medical school. Over the years, through tutoring, teaching, and mentoring, Katherine has been passionate about helping others. Having just recently gone through the medical school admissions process herself, she is dedicated to helping others navigate applying, and she is very excited to work with students.

Katherine knew she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was two years old and has never doubted that decision. She shadowed several veterinarians while in high school and worked in a histology lab. While in her undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, Katherine learned about the field of laboratory animal medicine while taking a lab animal management course. From that, she became more involved in research in her department and completed a summer externship at the NIH veterinary pathology center.

On the advice of her mentors, she applied for dual DVM/Ph.D. programs and was accepted at UC Davis. During the Ph.D. portion of the program, her lab moved to the world-renowned hospital, the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, MN. She completed her Immunology Ph.D. there, during which she published six first-author papers in the field of Transplant Immunology. Afterward, she rejoined the class of 2020, where she decided to pursue a residency in Laboratory Animal Medicine. She matched to Stanford University for her residency, where she is currently training.

Katherine graduated cum laude from UC Davis in 2017 with a B.S. in Microbiology and a minor in Managerial Economics. As an undergraduate, she worked as a research assistant in a cardiovascular tissue engineering lab and as a veterinary technician at Davis’s Large Animal ICU, which she still holds today. She has also worked in small animal and private equine practices, and she has experience rehabilitating and retraining abused horses. She has a passion for equine medicine and hopes to one day work in veterinary academia as a large animal surgeon and musculoskeletal research professor.

Katherine held many leadership positions in veterinary school, including co-president of the Veterinary Emergency Response Team, Student Activities Treasurer of the Student American Veterinary Medical Association, and the student representative for the California Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps (CAVMRC) Steering Committee. Her leadership work has been just as extensive in graduate school, serving on admissions committees and the SVM Research Committee and Community Council.

Katherine loves serving as a mentor. She has experience in private tutoring, guiding middle and high school students on career path development, and mentoring undergraduate researchers and other visiting scholars. She is eager to meet the up-and-coming generation of veterinary medicine and happy to provide any insights she can about the application process.

Keith's academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Clemson University in South Carolina. During his two gap years after graduating from Clemson, he gained clinical experience working as a medical scribe in the Emergency Department and as a medical assistant in a family medicine outpatient office.

At Stony Brook University, Keith took on significant leadership roles. He served as the Dean's Advisory Committee representative for the PA program and sat on the PA program's admissions committee as a student interviewer. His involvement in the admissions process has provided him with knowledge strategies for what makes a strong applicant. Keith was on the admissions committee for over two years, participating in interviews alongside current faculty and alumni.

Keith is affiliated with both the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the New York State Society of Physician Assistants (NYSSPA), demonstrating his commitment to professional development and community engagement within the PA profession.

As a mentor, Keith looks forward to working with students who are passionate about pursuing a career as a PA. He values hard work and collaboration, aiming to develop the best applicant possible through his guidance. Some of his greatest strengths as a coach include helping candidates decide on schools to apply to, editing personal statements, and preparing for interviews.

Ken's journey in the medical field began at Chapman University on an academic scholarship, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in athletic training while also being a member of the football team. His passion for sports medicine led him to pursue a graduate assistant athletic trainer position at California State University, Fullerton upon graduation. There, he worked with the men's wrestling team for two seasons while simultaneously earning his MS in kinesiology with an emphasis on sports performance and sports psychology.

For six years, Ken worked as an assistant and eventually became the Director of Athletic Training at Servite High School. His experience in this role further solidified his desire to pursue a career as a PA. Ken made the decision to attend Marshall B. Ketchum University (MBKU) in Fullerton for his PA education. He graduated from MBKU with a PA certificate and an MMS. Following graduation, Ken worked in general orthopedic surgery for several years before joining his current practice, where he specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Throughout his career, Ken has demonstrated a strong commitment to mentoring and guiding aspiring PAs through the admissions process. As the Vice President of the Pre-PA Club at MBKU, he gained extensive experience editing essays and resumes and administering mock interviews. Ken's experience with applying to PA school has fueled his passion for helping others navigate the complex and competitive world of PA admissions. Students he has coached have been accepted to PA schools at Marshall B. Ketchum University, Western University, and Lipscomb University. 

Ken's approach to mentoring is centered on providing personalized guidance and support to each applicant. He takes the time to understand their strengths, experiences, and goals and works closely with them to develop a strong application that showcases their potential as future PAs. He tries to understand an applicant’s profile before diving into the counseling session. Then, he assesses their strengths and weaknesses and offers ways to improve their application. Ken is known to be very meticulous and firmly believes that every detail matters.

Her journey in the medical field began at Indiana State University on a President’s Scholarship, where she obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology with a minor in chemistry, graduating summa cum laude. During her undergraduate years, Kendal also worked part-time as a certified nursing assistant at a local nursing home, where she discovered her passion for geriatric care. 

Driven by her desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of her patients, Kendal continued her studies at Indiana State University, graduating from the school’s PA program. Her exceptional performance and dedication led her to accept a position in inpatient neurology at Union Health shortly after graduation. In this role, Kendal provides compassionate medical expertise to patients, utilizing her knowledge and skills to improve their quality of life. Recognizing her potential for leadership and her commitment to excellence, her employer provided her with the opportunity to pursue a Master’s in healthcare administration at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, which she completed.

Alongside her clinical work, Kendal is passionate about mentoring current and prospective students in the PA field. Since her second year as a practicing PA, she has been a preceptor for Indiana State University, guiding and inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals. Kendal has also had the privilege of mentoring several undergraduate students interested in the PA field, providing them with insider tips and hands-on experience through shadowing opportunities. 

Through her diverse experiences in teaching and patient care, Kendal has honed her ability to communicate complex information in a clear and accessible manner. As an admissions counselor, she draws upon her personal knowledge and academic success to guide students along their paths to becoming a PAs. Her passion for coaching and mentoring others is shown through her seven consecutive years of volunteering as a cheerleading coach for a local non-profit youth sports organization, where she held various leadership positions. Her experiences working with underserved communities and understanding the importance of holistic admissions have shaped her perspective on the value of non-academic achievements in dental school applications.

As an admissions consultant, Kendall's strengths lie in her ability to empathize with students and help them highlight their distinctive attributes. Kevin graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine and is an internal medicine resident physician at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles. Before Stanford, he studied Engineering at Vanderbilt University, where he helped develop a device for diagnosing and managing Sickle Cell Disease in global health settings. He has conducted research leading to patents for innovative medical devices for cardiac arrhythmias. 

Kevin has received several research awards at national conferences, such as the Heart Rhythm Society, and funding for early-stage startups. After graduating, Kevin pursued his passion for innovation and entrepreneurship by working in biotech venture capital, leading investments in drugs, devices, and biological therapies.

Kevin loves navigating medical school and residency application cycles with students. He is committed to every step of the process and derives great satisfaction from helping students craft unique essays. Kevin’s expertise in developing unique stories during the admissions process allowed him to secure a spot at his desired medical school and later his preferred residency program. Kevin maintains close relationships with admissions representatives who help him understand the latest medical school application cycle trends. This allows him to provide expert guidance to candidates throughout the process.

Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Stamford, CT, Kristian brings a special perspective to his work as a mentor. Khristian’s academic journey began at MIT, where he majored in general mathematics and minored in literature. During his undergraduate studies and gap years, he worked as a research associate investigating intestinal stem cells. 

Initially applying to Stanford as a regular candidate, he soon realized his desire to pursue further research and joined the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) internally. His current research focuses on the role of fibroblast heterogeneity in inflammatory bowel disease.

In addition to his research pursuits, Khristian is committed to mentorship and community service. He has served as president of Medical Students with Disability and Chronic Illnesses (MSDCI) and regularly mentors middle and high school students in Palo Alto. Khristian’s research interests include colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and immunology, and his dream is to become a colorectal surgeon.

Kunal is a board-certified Dermatologist and native New Yorker who completed his undergraduate studies in Chemistry at New York University, where he graduated as a Dean's Scholar. He earned his MD with highest distinction from the State University of New York- Downstate College of Medicine and received numerous honors and awards. Throughout his educational journey, Kunal has been an active mentor, serving as an instructor for the MCAT and a USMLE tutor, as well as a Resident Advisor during medical school.

Kunal's passion for research led him to complete a year-long research fellowship studying inflammatory skin diseases jointly between the prestigious Rockefeller University and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He went on to complete his internship in Internal Medicine at Northwell Health System and his residency in Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he was selected as the Chief Resident based on his outstanding performance and commitment to excellence.

Currently, Kunal serves as the Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he shares his extensive knowledge and experience by teaching residents and medical students. As an accomplished researcher, Kunal has conducted significant research in medical dermatology, with his work being widely published in high-profile journals in his field.

Kylie's academic journey led her to Florida State University, where she majored in family and child sciences with a minor in biology and chemistry. Before PA school, Kylie gained valuable healthcare experience working as a medical assistant in dermatology, further solidifying her commitment to patient care.

She pursued PA studies at South College. Her commitment to the program and her peers led to her selection as one of five students to represent South College at the Annual Curriculum Review for two consecutive years. This panel reviewed and evaluated the program's curriculum to determine its quality and effectiveness, providing Kylie with valuable insights into PA education and program development. Kylie also dedicated her free time to mentoring pre-PA students from her sorority, sharing her knowledge and experiences to help guide them on their path to becoming physician assistants.

As a PA admissions specialist, Kylie brings a deep understanding of the skills and qualities highly valued by admissions committees. Her experience in facilitating interviews at her PA program has given her expert insights into the admissions process, which she now uses to help students make their applications shine. Students Kylie has coached have been accepted to PA programs at South College, Nova Southeastern University, Hofstra University, Florida State University, and others. 

Kylie's approach to admissions consulting is characterized by her hardworking nature, dedication, and genuine excitement to work with each student. Lauren brings an extensive background in academic essay editing and shaping to her role at Inspira Advantage. While pursuing her undergraduate degree in three and a half years from The George Washington University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with double minors in Human Services & Social Justice and Journalism, she was selected for a competitive role at the University Writing Center. After completing a required Pedagogy & Praxis for Writers course, Lauren worked for two and a half years helping students attending GW’s undergraduate, graduate, law, and medical schools with everything from admissions essays to resumes, dissertations, theses, and course papers. She received the highest scores from anonymous students surveyed who visited her at the writing center across all consultants during the spring of 2017.

Lauren also interned in early childhood education policy at the National Association of State Boards of Education and helped to work on legislative advocacy initiatives as an intern at the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Upon graduation from GW, Lauren worked in fundraising and grant writing for WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease and then pursued a corporate marketing, communications, and editing role at a large insurance brokerage firm.

However, it was Lauren’s role at WomenHeart that first drew her to pursue a career in healthcare, and she was accepted to Emory University’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program, where she graduated with her BSN.

Before beginning nursing school, Lauren served as a Community Engagement Intern at buddhi, a fledgling digital platform for individuals affected by cancer to connect. She also became the first Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion intern at the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and worked part-time for a college admissions consulting company on personal statements for high school students.

Lauren currently works as a nurse in the Bay Area of California. She can’t wait to have a hand in helping students make their dream of attending nursing school a reality, too!
