Upon completing high school, Dr. Whitworth chose to serve in the United States Air Force, marking the beginning of a transformative journey. The 2011 catastrophic events in Japan, including a massive earthquake and subsequent tsunami, thrust him into emergency response roles, despite his primary duty in financial management. It was during this intense period that his interest in medical services was piqued through his interactions with a physician assistant, sparking a new career aspiration.
Motivated to further his education, Dr. Whitworth began taking classes at the University of Maryland Global Campus while still in Japan, earning an Associate’s Degree in general studies. His commitment to his education led him to transition from Active Duty to the Air National Guard, allowing him to enroll as a full-time student at Indiana State University. Here, he undertook a challenging curriculum as a biology major, balancing his military commitments and academics. Despite financial pressures and family responsibilities leading him to a full-time role as a budget analyst, Dr. Whitworth's resolve never faded. He completed his Bachelor's degree at Thomas Edison State University in natural sciences and mathematics and later pursued an MBA at Oakland City University, achieving a 4.0 GPA.
Dr. Whitworth's career trajectory took a significant turn when he joined the Occupational Health sector within the Air Force's Medical Group. This role, coupled with further technical training at the US Air Force’s School of Aerospace Medicine, solidified his desire to become a physician assistant. His academic and professional experiences culminated in his acceptance and subsequent graduation from Indiana University’s PA program, where he excelled and quickly passed his national certification exam. Afterward, he attended Butler University, graduating with a DMSc.

She is currently conducting clinical and translational cerebrovascular neurosurgery research under Dr. Michael Lawton at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, AZ. Her clinical work involves risk stratification and outcomes of various hemorrhagic cerebrovascular diseases, while her translational research focuses on novel single-cell RNA sequencing of these same pathologies. While studying neural circuits, Archana worked at a syringe exchange in Ithaca, New York, where she witnessed firsthand the mechanics of court-based drug rehabilitation. Listening to patients’ stories deepened her conviction that science alone could not capture multiple dimensions of health and disease, which paved her path toward medicine.
At Harvard, Dr. Podury received $90,000 in scholarship support as a Paul & Daisy Soros Fellow and David Margin Graduate Student Leadership Fellow; she was also a recipient of the Massachusetts Medical Society Information Technology Award and Freeberg Student Research Award. Following his graduation, he invested his skills in Alzheimer's research at the Gladstone Institute in San Francisco for two years before enrolling at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine.

He also completed a year-long fellowship during medical school to conduct multiple radiology research projects using semi-automated machine learning for the National Institutes of Health. Born in Baltimore, Dr. Ladines-Lim’s time at the Yale School of Medicine further solidified his passion for medicine and his desire to make a global impact. After medical school, he earned a PhD in chemical engineering before moving on to his residency training, where he acquired his own research funding for projects on antimicrobial resistance and gun safety in primary care.
Dr. Ladines-Lim has participated in projects on Zika exposure and neurodevelopmental sequelae in infants in Salvador, Brazil, and uptake of tuberculosis preventative therapy in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He also worked for the Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Cape Town. As a resident at Michigan Medicine, he spearheaded several impactful projects, including antimicrobial stewardship in immigrant and refugee populations in Southeast Michigan and the use of ICD-10 codes to estimate rates of inappropriate antibiotic prescribing in large datasets. His dedication to research and improving patient care is evident in his work, and he aims to continue making significant contributions to the field of adult infectious diseases.
