Throughout her training, Dr. Habil has built expertise in biochemistry, cancer biology/tumor biology, genomics, and pharmacology. During her graduate education, she was supported by a University of Louisville graduate research fellowship and was recognized with the Doctoral Dissertation Completion Award. She was selected as a Commencement Student Speaker at the University of Louisville, reflecting her leadership and academic contributions.
Dr. Habil’s research and scholarly efforts have also been recognized at the national level, including a Postdoctoral Poster Presentation Award at an Ohio Valley Chapter of the Society of Toxicology (OVSOT) Meeting. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, The Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, Frontiers in Pharmacology, and others.
Mentorship is a central part of Dr. Habil’s work. With seven years of research coaching experience, she has mentored undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and medical students through the research process. Under her guidance, students have produced peer-reviewed posters, conference abstracts, and co-authored papers, with a focus on strong study design, clear scientific communication, and building independent research skills.
