Dr. Lee’s educational journey began at the University of California, Irvine, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in sociology and international studies. Before pursuing her PhD at UCLA, she graduated with two Master’s degrees in demographic and social analysis from UC Irvine and sociology from UCLA.
Throughout her career, Dr. Lee has contributed to peer-reviewed publications, national conference presentations, and multi-institution partnerships focused on HCI in medicine, patient care quality, and clinical education. She also has expertise in research operations, IRB and regulatory management, and an ability to translate complex health data into actionable insights to improve clinical practice. Dr. Lee manages multi-center research, federally funded research initiatives, and large-scale mixed-methods studies focused on improving patient care and clinician decision-making.The projects she has supported center on understanding how clinicians interact with digital tools, diagnostic support systems, and decision-making interfaces, and how these technologies shape diagnostic accuracy, cognitive load, and patient safety. In addition to research, Dr. Lee serves as an adjunct professor at a nursing school
