He began his academic journey at Princeton University, where he majored in molecular biology and graduated with honors. Dr. Ng then attended Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine for his MD, again graduating with honors in research. Dr. Ng is a reviewer for several leading medical and orthopedic journals, including The Spine Journal, Spine, the Journal of Spine Surgery, the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and World Neurosurgery. He is also a Section Editor for Hip Surgery, the Journal of Anthroplasty, and Orthopedics at Frontiers in Surgery, as well as a guide editor for the Journal of Clinical Medicine. Dr. Ng also serves as an Elite Reviewer and Editorial Board member for the Journal of Arthroplasty.
Dr. Ng is a member of the North American Spine Society (NASS) Committee Member (Early Advisory Council, Continuing Medical Education Committee) and an Abstract Reviewer for the Cervical Spine Research Society (CSRS), NASS 2025. He was named Outstanding Author in 2025 by the Journal of Spine Surgery, and was a top 5 national winner for the Northeast Region REF Resident Research Symposium. Dr. Ng is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Thessalus Capital, a healthcare investment firm featured in Forbes, Bloomberg, and CNBC. He is a consultant for 14 orthopedic device companies, including VB Spine, Stryker, Johnson & Johnson, and Pacira, and serves as a medical affairs consultant at Ferghana Partners Group, an investment bank specializing in life sciences and specialty chemicals.
With 10+ years of research mentorship and coaching experience, Dr. Ng has helped students gain acceptance to medical schools at Harvard, Princeton, Yale, UPenn, Columbia, Brown, NYU, UPitt, Johns Hopkins, Rutgers, and Duke. He has supported students across various research disciplines, including bioengineering, biomedical engineering, biostatistics, molecular biology, public health, and systems and quantitative biology. He has also supported students pursuing research in health policy, health economics, health services, outcomes research, biomedical informatics, clinical informatics, and data science.
Dr. Ng creates a supportive and non-judgmental environment for students, helping them overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. As a research mentor, Dr. Ng excels at merging his practical experience with academic inquiry, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the scientific inquiry process.
