Dr. Saltzberg holds a BA in psychology, graduating cum laude from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and earned his MD from Rosalind Franklin University Chicago Medical School. He completed his pediatrics residency at Northwestern University’s Children’s Memorial Hospital. After six years of practice, Dr. Saltzberg returned to training in emergency medicine at the University of Nevada.
Dr. Saltzberg has also taught in residency programs at Northwestern University and Chicago Medical School. He also helped create a remote clinical curriculum for basic science students at Chicago Medical School. With 35+ years as an admissions committee member, he is acutely aware of the role research plays in medical school admissions.
Known for his holistic, student-centered approach to research mentorship, Dr. Saltzberg has supported students through multiple research areas. These disciplines include biomedical engineering, development and stem cell biology, epidemiology, genetics, microbiology, infectious disease, neuroscience, physiology, integrative biology, and health services and outcomes research.
