Sarah Kate brings a diverse background in animal and veterinary experience, ranging from marine mammals to Florida wildlife rehabilitation. Her openness to exploration has enabled her to gain hands-on experience with many species and sectors, and she has a particular interest in small-animal medicine and exotic emergency medicine. She currently serves as the Raptor Team Coordinator for Auburn's Zoo, Exotics, and Wildlife Club, acting as a liaison and volunteer coordinator between student members and the Raptor Center at Auburn University. Before veterinary school, she worked as a kennel technician and technician assistant at Tampa Veterinary Hospital.
Sarah Kate’s academic foundation in communication has been a strong asset throughout her educational journey, supporting her leadership roles, organizational skills, and writing excellence. She has been recognized for her academic performance with the Patricia Pat Endowed Scholarship for academic excellence at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.
As a coach, Sarah Kate emphasizes clear communication, thoughtful guidance, and encouragement, empowering applicants to submit authentic and standout application packets. She is passionate about identifying each student's unique strengths and helping them tell their story with confidence, honesty, and clarity. She also understands the value of non-traditional undergraduate paths and the unique perspectives they bring to veterinary medicine. Having lacked formal pre-veterinary advising as an undergraduate, she is especially motivated to support students navigating the process without structured guidance.
