There are a ton of discrepancies in medical admissions data, and apparently, with admissions firms, too. The Match Guy recently published a comparison article on Inspira Advantage’s services, and much of the data they presented is blatantly false. We’re here to correct that narrative so you know exactly how each of these admissions firms compares with one another.

The Match Guy’s comparison article with Inspira Advantage is riddled with untrue claims. We were deeply shocked by the false information, misleading statements, and claims lacking supporting data.

Inspira Advantage has the nation’s largest team of former medical school admissions officers, with 400+ advisors. In the Match Guy’s article, they said we only have 150+ advisors, which couldn’t be further from the truth.

All of our 400+ advisors are physicians and/or former admissions officers at some of the nation's top medical schools. We work only with the best consultants to ensure that each applicant who uses our services receives the expert advice they deserve.

The Match Guy’s article claims that we don’t have a dedicated Student Success team, but our Student Success team is a central — and essential — part of our processes.

In our Behind the Scenes of Working with an Admissions Consultant article, Kaitlyn Williamson, one of our Student Success Managers, shares her opinion on the role of a Student Success team.
Our Student Success Team has over 12 years of experience helping students with their educational goals, and is responsible for matching you to your mentor, coach, and friend over the next several months. They rely on the Student Onboarding Questionnaire to make the ideal pairing. They also analyze your application weaknesses and match you with a counselor with a track record of addressing them. That way, you can apply with the best application possible.
The Match Guy also incorrectly states that Inspira doesn’t offer any interest-free payment plans.

Our payment plans are incredibly flexible, with extended options available, as shown in the screenshot below.

We also offer applicants zero-interest payment plans, such as the one shown in the screenshot below.

At Inspira Advantage, our primary goal is to democratize access to medical education. We want you to get into the medical school you’ve always dreamed of but never thought possible. We offer several payment plans at different price points, and every package has at least one zero-interest payment plan option. We’re here to help you get into medical school, plain and simple.
In addition to our flexible payment plans, we also offer bundled admissions & MCAT prep plans. Our bundled plans at Inspira help you not only secure at least a 515 MCAT score, but they also help you gain admission to medical school. The Match Guy’s article isn’t very clear here: They say we don’t offer “Learning Bundles.”

However, this is false, as we bundle MCAT prep and medical school applications in several comprehensive plans, as shown in the screenshot below.

The Match Guy falsely says Inspira Advantage “represents a more traditional model of medical admissions and tutoring support.” This is an opinion being presented as fact.

We provide applicants with a comprehensive physician shadowing program, which few other admissions consulting firms offer. You’ll shadow physicians at some of the top hospitals in the United States, accumulating 60+ hours of shadowing for your application. We also offer a medical research and publication support program, where you can get published and work with a researcher from a top college.
These programs demonstrate that Inspira Advantage is anything but traditional. We work with each applicant to bolster their strengths in innovative ways. We don’t just rely on improving your stats to help you stand out.
The Match Guy’s main closing claim is that we use a broad advising model that “may include admissions and other accomplished professionals.” This isn’t true. We only work with physicians and/or former admissions officers to ensure you get the support you need.

Below, we’ll take a closer look at how Inspira Advantage differs from The Match Guy.
You can tell how much value you’re going to get out of a consulting firm based on what its programs offer. In the table below, we compare The Match Guy’s consulting services with Inspira Advantage’s to see which one is better for you:
All information is based on publicly available data from inspiraadvantage.com and thematchguy.com as of July 2026. Services and pricing may change. Please verify details directly with each consulting company for any updated figures.
Inspira Advantage offers more consulting services for your med school journey. With Inspira, you have access to unlimited advising hours on all plans, helping you connect with your advisor whenever it’s most convenient for you. Inspira also offers waitlist assistance, scholarship guidance, shadowing experience, and a custom student dashboard, none of which The Match Guy offers as of July 2026.
If you’re looking for a comprehensive consulting firm that can help you at every point in the medical school admissions cycle, choose Inspira Advantage. Our admissions team will help you submit a standout application with all of our services.
A consulting firm is only as good as the experts they work with. Below, we’ll take a closer look at the consultants at Inspira Advantage vs. the consultants at The Match Guy to see which company is better for your goals:
If “better” is based on credentials, size, and reputation, then yes, Inspira Advantage’s advisory team is better than The Match Guy’s. This is due to Inspira having the nation’s largest team of former admissions officers who have direct admissions experience coaching medical school applicants. Inspira’s advising team is also publicly browsable and filterable by specialty and alma mater, whereas The Match Guy’s list is only filterable by specialty.
Inspira is also very transparent about how each student is matched with an expert counselor, but The Match Guy doesn’t make this process clear. You can also get to know each consultant through their video introduction, and The Match Guy doesn’t offer anything comparable.
One of the best ways to assess whether a consulting firm can support you is by reviewing reported outcomes. In the table below, we’ll compare Inspira Advantage and The Match Guy’s outcomes and success rates:
Admissions consulting can be very expensive, but it's helpful to know exactly what you’re paying for. In the table below, we compare the transparency of pricing figures across Inspira Advantage and The Match Guy.
Inspira Advantage is the more reliable consulting firm for pricing and reported success rates. Inspira has a 98% acceptance rate, whereas we’re unable to find a figure on The Match Guy’s website, as of July 2026. In addition, The Match Guy says it's trusted by over 35,000 students, but it’s unclear how many applicants they’ve helped get into medical school. Inspira has verifiable case studies, acceptance letters, and success stories that validate its claims to have helped 10,000+ students get into medical school.
Inspira’s baseline plan is slightly more expensive than The Match Guy’s premium plan, but it offers far more value.
The only way to know whether a consulting company is what it claims to be is through verified reviews. However, not all reviews are made equally. That’s why it’s better to look at the number of reviews across different platforms to see if they align.
Below, we’ll take a look at how Inspira Advantage and The Match Guy compare based on overall student reviews and experiences:
Both Inspira Advantage and The Match Guy offer expert advisors who can help you get into medical school. The question really comes down to which one is more reliable.
With over 1,659 reviews, 10,000 students supported, and comprehensive application plans, Inspira Advantage is an extremely reliable support system in your medical school admissions journey. The Match Guy doesn’t provide the same level of support as Inspira Advantage, especially since it offers only three main medical advisory packages.
The Match Guy also doesn’t share its matching process with students, so there’s no way to know if you’ll actually match with someone who can improve your weaknesses. Paired with no verifiable acceptance rate, it’s hard to know if paying for The Match Guy’s services will really be worth it in the end.
Inspira Advantage has a 98% acceptance rate, a promise of acceptance, and 400+ advisors who are dedicated to your success every step of the way. With unlimited application advising, your counselor will be there from the moment you get paired with them until you get accepted. And that’s the most valuable resource you can offer in the competitive admissions cycle right now.
