Originally born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Sukarn graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor's degree in molecular and cellular biology, laying a strong foundation for his future pursuits in medicine. He then matriculated to the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine where he fostered and expanded his knowledge in medicine.
Throughout his medical career, Sukarn has conducted extensive research applying informatics and machine learning to evaluate national trends in quality of care and develop readmission prediction tools. This experience has not only honed his analytical skills but also provided him with insider information into the potential of emerging technologies to improve patient outcomes and drive data-driven decision-making in healthcare.
Sukarn has served as a teaching assistant for several courses at the University of Chicago. His experience interviewing many prospective students has given him firsthand experience with the other side of the medical school admissions process. He hopes to leverage this experience to help students successfully navigate this critical period in their professional journeys.
