At WashU in St Louis, Dr. Pedamallu studied computational biology and healthcare management, laying the foundation for her interest in population health and data-driven solutions in medicine. Her journey through medicine is shaped by her drive to pursue meaningful opportunities that bridge research, advocacy, and clinical care. As a Schweitzer Fellow, she developed a culturally-tailored community health education program for South Asian immigrants, addressing chronic disease prevention and health literacy. Her research focuses on cardiovascular disease disparities and innovative strategies to improve access to care, particularly in cardiac rehabilitation.
Dr. Pedamallu has also presented her work at leading conferences such as the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions, gaining national recognition for her contributions to care delivery research. She is passionate about health policy, clinical innovation, and care delivery research and is dedicated to using her experiences with patients to drive structural change in healthcare.
With over six years of experience in admissions consulting, Dr. Pedamallu is deeply committed to mentoring future physicians. As a first-generation medical student, she understands the challenges and complexities of the application process and aims to provide personalized mentorship to help students navigate their journeys. She believes in helping each applicant find their unique “physician and” identity—encouraging them to embrace and showcase their passions beyond medicine. Dr. Pedamallu works closely with students to craft cohesive and compelling narratives that reflect their strengths, guiding them to present themselves authentically and confidently.
