Dr. Brown has a strong background in medicine, research, and mentorship. He began his higher education journey at the University of Virginia, where he earned a BA in Spanish language and literature. He earned his MD from EVMS, where he also completed his internal medicine internship and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. In addition to his medical training, Dr. Brown holds an MBA from the Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William & Mary and a Master of Biomedical Sciences from EVMS, demonstrating his commitment to both healthcare and leadership.
Throughout his career, Dr. Brown has received multiple accolades, including the Outstanding Intern of the Year Award from the EVMS internal medicine residency program and the Certificate of Recognition in Research and Discovery for his contributions to medical research. His dedication to compassionate, patient-centered care was further recognized when he was honored with the Melissa Warfield, MD, Humanism in Medicine Award.
With a global perspective on medicine and business, Dr. Brown participated in a Global Business Immersion program in Spain, studying international healthcare operations and supply chain management. He has also engaged in hands-on medical service through a volunteer trip with floating doctors in Panama, where he provided care to underserved populations in rural communities.
Dr. Brown is passionate about mentorship and believes in a highly personalized approach to coaching. He works closely with applicants to identify their individual strengths, develop compelling application materials, and refine their interviewing skills. His goal is to empower students to present the best versions of themselves while navigating the competitive medical school admissions process. Students Dr. Brown has coached have been accepted to EVMS, Yale, Harvard, Howard University, the University of North Carolina, and other medical schools.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Dr. Brown is an active member of the EVMS Alumni Advisory Board and has shared his insights as a featured guest on the Dermatology Interest Group Association (DIGA) podcast. Dr. Brown is committed to supporting students from all backgrounds as they embark on their medical careers. His extensive experience, strategic approach, and dedication to mentorship make him a trusted guide for applicants striving to achieve their goals in medicine.
