Dr. Sandhu completed her associate’s degree at community college and her bachelor’s degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. Coming from a background with limited support during medical school and residency admissions, she is deeply motivated to mentor students at every stage of their journey and is committed to helping the next generation succeed.
Throughout her medical education journey, Dr. Sandhu has presented posters at meetings for the American Thoracic Society, American Heart Association, and the American College of Physicians National Conference, where her poster won first place. Dr. Sandhu was also inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and has received the Resident of Outstanding Strength and Tenacity Community/Service Recognition Award twice.
Dr. Sandhu has a longstanding dedication to mentorship, having guided students for years before joining Inspira Advantage. From personal statements and mock interviews to essay editing and providing words of encouragement, she has years of experience in helping students refine every aspect of their applications. Dr. Sandhu’s experience serving on her medical school admissions committee and residency recruitment committee has provided her with valuable insight into what makes a strong candidate.
With her own non-traditional path into medicine, Dr. Sandhu is especially passionate about supporting students from diverse and unconventional backgrounds. Known for her supportive nature, attention to detail, and ability to highlight the strengths of students, she takes pride in crafting tailored strategies for success.
